Artist Statement
Jane Reynolds combines traditional ceramic processes with computer aided design resulting in extremely fine porcelain vessels. The vessels aim to encourage users to indulge in the pleasures of eating. These beautiful forms with their fluid spouts and intriguing orifices will be on show at the Design Centre, Islington as part of New Designers, a show case for new talent in the creative industries.
Reynolds has worked comprehensively in ceramics for 18months, using slipcasting as a process where a thin wall of clay can be achieved through pouring liquid clay into the mould of a form. Recently Reynolds has produced refined forms through the use of computer aided design, resulting in accurate and precise models with the use of cutting edge 3d printing..
